Jared Leto Has Gone All Method For Suicide Squad

Jared Leto’s performance as The Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’ is one of the most eagerly anticipated of the next few years.

And it sounds as though Leto is fully aware of the expectation surrounded his portrayal too, because, according to his ‘Suicide Squad’ co-star, the Oscar-winning actor is staying in character throughout filming.

That’s right Leto has gone all method for The Joker, meaning that when the cameras stop rolling he remains as the villain while coasting around onset.

Jai Courtney, who is playing Boomerang in ‘Suicide Squad’, revealed Leto’s approach while talking to MTV News last week.

“I don’t know how you measure that these days. I haven’t seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let’s put it that way,” Courtney admitted.

Meanwhile, the Australian actor also revealed that everyone else involved in the film is fully aware of the pressure that Jared Leto is under. But, at the same time, they’re still very impressed with what he’s doing.

“I don’t think any of us are naïve to the pressure he’s under. It’s not something I’ve talked about with him, but I’ve seen him working and it’s cool, man,” Courtney declared.

Jared Leto is under a heap of pressure because of the towering performances of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger as the Joker in ‘Batman’ and ‘The Dark Knight’. In fact, Ledger was awarded a posthumous Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his efforts as the iconic villain.

It will take something special for Jared Leto to get close to Ledger’s portrayal, but he’s the only actor around that could come close.

And even though he’s currently filming ‘Suicide Squad’ around Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Leto and his Joker are the real reason why the blockbuster is so hugely anticipated. ‘Suicide Squad’ will finally be with us on August 5, 2016.
