Yahoo Movies New Jason Bourne movie in the works
A new Jason Bourne movie is in the works, it has emerged.
The hit action franchise was last on screens quite a few years ago with 2016's Jason Bourne, with Matt Damon returning at the time to the role of the iconic CIA assassin.
It is now being reported by Deadline that a new movie is in early development, with All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger in talks to helm and develop the movie.

As for Damon, it is being reported that he would be approached for a return, though nothing is set in stone, with a script not even written yet.
The Bourne series follows the amnesiac titular character, and first launched with 2002's The Bourne Identity, followed by 2004's The Bourne Supremacy and 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum.
2012's The Bourne Legacy focused on Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross, while Damon returned for Jason Bourne seven years ago.

Speaking back in 2017, Damon suggested he wouldn’t return to the franchise unless it had a good story, especially after Jason Bourne made less at the box office than Ultimatum.
"It would have to be a pretty incredible story to get us all back on the horse," he told the Toronto Sun. "This last one didn't do as well as the one we did 10 years ago, so maybe people are done with the character."
Damon added: "Look, we all love working together and those movies are a lot of fun to make, so we sure would be happy to do it. If we can figure out a good story."
The franchise was also spun-off into a TV series called Treadstone in 2019, which starred Jeremy Irvine, Tracy Ifeachor and Han Hyo-joo, though was it cancelled after one season.
