Jay Hernandez In Talks For Suicide Squad

It looks as though ‘Suicide Squad’ is beginning to round out its cast, with Jay Hernandez in talks for a currently undisclosed role.

According to The Wrap, the 36-year-old actor is up for a role in Warner Bros. upcoming villainous comic book movie, ‘Suicide Squad’.

“Jay Hernandez is in negotiations to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ comic book adaptation ‘Suicide Squad’,” they revealed. “Representatives for Warner Bros. and Hernandez did not immediately respond to requests for comment.”

But who exactly will he be playing?

At the moment, it’s unclear… but it seems there are several options.

“Hernandez’s role is being kept under wraps, but it’s possible that he could be playing an inmate on the same cell block as The Joker, though there are several other open roles at this time.”

Of course, I can’t help wondering whether rumours of an appearance by Deathstroke could put Hernandez in the role. Then again, at this stage his part could literally be anything. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, it looks as though news that Viola Davis would join the cast may have been a little premature… as The Wrap reveals that she’s still in talks for the role of Amanda Waller.

“Viola Davis is in negotiations to play Amanda Waller and Jesse Eisenberg is in talks to reprise his upcoming role as Lex Luthor.”

Of course, Davis has been in negotiations for some time, but considering her rather busy schedule it’s perhaps not surprising. And as for Jesse Eisenberg, it’s a seemingly similar story. Although I can’t help thinking that the pair will sign up eventually.

Either way, it looks as though DC’s Suicide Squad is starting to take shape. And it’s about time, really. Let’s just hope its latest Rick Flagg stays the course this time around.

‘Suicide Squad’ heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.
