Judd Nelson Picture With Newspaper Dispels Online Death Hoax

Rumours of Judd Nelson’s death appear to have been somewhat exaggerated, after his agent circulated a picture of the actor to prove that a recent death hoax was indeed a hoax.

The picture of the star of classics like ‘The Breakfast Club’, ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ and ‘New Jack City’ found him holding a picture of yesterday’s Los Angeles Times to remove any doubt over his demise.

A report purporting to be from Fox News, but in fact appearing on a fake page, read: “Sources are reporting that Judd Nelson, best known for his role as John Bender in The Breakfast Club, has been found dead at age 55.

“Multiple unconfirmed reports say Nelson was found dead Saturday evening in his Los Angeles condo after police responded to a 911 call for an unconscious man around 9:25 p.m.

“Although police have not yet released the man’s identity, multiple occupants of Sierra Towers, a popular 31-story West Hollywood high-rise, have confirmed that it was Nelson’s condo police responded to and a single body was carried out of the apartment on a stretcher.”

Despite the level of detail in the report, it was all entirely fabricated, including the spot where he is supposed to live.

It was Nelson’s agent Gregg Klein who decided to disturb his client on a Sunday in order to set the record straight.

“Reports of Judd Nelson’s death are not accurate please see attached photo,” he wrote.

Jean-Pierre Henraux, Nelson’s long-time manager, added that the former Brat Packer was in ‘perfect’ shape and has recently shot an episode of the upcoming US TV series ‘Empire’, with Terrence Howard.

He is, of course, far from the first actor forced to deny they’re not deceased following an online death hoax.

Earlier this year Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was the victim of similar rumours, along with ‘The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, and Morgan Freeman.

Just a few days ago, Benicio Del Toro was also claimed to have died following an overdose.

The reports were, again, false.
