Justice League Dark Script Already Complete

After month of rumours and speculation, it looks as though the script for ‘Justice League Dark’ has finally been finished and Guillermo Del Toro has handed it over to Warner Bros.

“Today, the completed screenplay for ‘Dark Universe’ officially went to weekend reads at Warner Bros,” Forbes revealed. “The studio’s reactions to the script will be coming back in a few days, and the film could take another step toward production if Warner has a favorable opinion of what they see on the page.”

The film, tentatively titled ‘Dark Universe’ by Del Toro, has been in the works for some time… and while fans have been desperate for any new, small details, nothing has arrived. And to top it off, the anticipated movie was notably absent from Warner Bros. and DC’s recent full slate announcement, leaving some to speculate that the project may have been cancelled. Or at least, wasn’t as certain as we all hoped.

But perhaps that’s because the ‘Dark universe’ won’t be crossing over with the regular big screen DC universe – an update given some time ago by the writer himself.  Either way, the news that the script has finally been signed off is a step in the right direction.

But will Warner Bros. green light the movie?

It’s no secret that the ‘Constantine’ TV show has been a bit of a slow burner… and with the series not being renewed past its initial thirteen episodes, it looks as though the future of the project has been cast in doubt.

Obviously, John Constantine is the focal point of the Justice League Dark… and I can’t help wondering if the frosty reception towards the TV show could hinder the film’s selling power. At least, in the eyes of the studio execs.

Will ‘Dark Universe’ make it to the big screen? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But I certainly hope so.
