Kate Hudson And Oliver Hudson's Dad Disowns Them: "They’re Dead To Me Now"

Bill Hudson has responded with strong words after son Oliver Hudson referred to Father’s Day earlier this month as 'Abandonment Day'.

Bill, 65, who is the father to Goldie Hawn’s children Oliver and Kate Hudson, told the Daily Mail that he no longer considers his two kids to be related to him.

On June 21, 38-year-old Oliver, known for roles on Rules of Engagement and Nashville, posted a throwback photo of himself and Kate (below) with their biological father, adding the caption, “Happy Abandonment Day….@katehudson."

Kate, 36, later posted a Father’s Day message to Kurt Russell, Hawn’s longtime partner, referring to him as "Pa.”

“I say to them now, ‘I set you free,’ ” Bill said. “I had five birth children [including three from another relationship], but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own.”

“I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name,” Bill continued. “They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth.”

Bill said that Hawn did not have anything bad to say about him after they initially split in 1980 after four years of marriage.

“But when Kurt came on the scene, the narrative changed, and I became the big, bad wolf,” said the actor and former member of The Hudson Brothers.

“I would say to her, 'Goldie, why are you trashing me and saying I’m an absent father when it’s simply not the case?’ and she’d laugh and go, 'Oh Bill, you know it makes for a better story.’ ”
