Kim's Convenience actress Andrea Bang is currently filming a romantic movie opposite The Flash's Robbie Amell, titled Float.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that debutant director Sherren Lee's cameras have been shooting in Vancouver since last week on her adaptation of Kate Marchant's Wattpad story.

Bang portrays Waverly here, who impulsively spends her last summer before college in a beach town, where she meets a local lifeguard and potential love-of-her-life Blake (Amell).

"Float is already a phenomenon," producer Aron Levitz shared in a statement. "This is a project with millions of reads on Wattpad and a passionate global fanbase who can't wait to see Float on screens everywhere."

Meanwhile, filmmaker Lee also went on to comment: "As a romantic myself, I want audiences to believe in love and that summer romances don't only happen in the movies.

"I also want young Asian women to be able to see themselves represented onscreen in a film for all audiences. I'm so grateful to Kate to have created this love story grounded in the theme of belonging and allowed me to bring a piece of myself to this adaptation."

Float also features Netflix star Andrew Bachelor, Rukiya Bernard (Van Helsing), Michelle Krusiec (Hollywood), Sarah Desjardins (Riverdale), Tristan Arthurs (Kung Fu) and Ghazal Azarbad (Charmed) in supporting roles.

Interestingly, Bang and Amell's chemistry is already being lauded by Lionsgate's vice president of co-productions and acquisitions.

"Float is the kind of magical adventure that's possible when you open yourself up to new experiences and possibilities," they said.

"That's as true for us as filmmaking partners as it is for the characters in the film. The chemistry between Robbie and Andrea is undeniable, and we can't wait to share Float with audiences everywhere."

Expect Float to arrive in cinemas next year sometime.
