'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart has said that she's planning to take an extended break from acting.

Speaking to USA Today, she added that she fancies taking on different types of art other than acting during her planned hiatus.

“I’m taking some time off because I’ve been working for two years,” she said.

“I’m an actor and that’s my art form, and because I started that so young, I’ve always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create. I’m going to take so much time off.

“I’m going to buy a live-work space in downtown LA and I’m going to make some [stuff] with my hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago.”

That said, she’ll still be dipping her toe into smaller projects.

“I’m making a short film. I’m making a bunch of [stuff]. I don’t know how I’ll put it out. But I’m not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time.”

Indeed, the whole of Stewart’s post-vampire career has been pretty hectic.

Since playing Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight’ movies, she’s pitched up in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, Kerouac adaptation ‘On The Road’, Palme d’Or competitor ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’ with Juliette Binoche, and military drama ‘Camp X-Ray’, which she’s currently promoting.

Still due out are ‘Still Alice’ with Julianne Moore, ‘Anesthesia’ with Glenn Close, ‘American Ultra’ with Jesse Eisenberg, and ‘Equals’ with Nicholas Hoult.
