New Movie Suggests Brittany Murphy Was Murdered

Certainly Brittany Murphy‘s life ended under strange circumstances, but was it murder?

Lifetime’s first trailer for its upcoming television movie starring Amanda Fuller, ‘The Brittany Murphy Story’, will explore her father’s attempts to reopen her case, claiming forensic evidence proved she was being poisoned.

Before that, the movie will explore the Atlanta native’s move to Los Angeles as a teenager and her career’s fast climb with her mother, Sharon Murphy, along for the entire ride. 

She would be able to capitalise on a ‘fish out of water role’ in ‘Clueless’ to starring roles in ‘Just Married’, ‘Little Black Book’, ‘Girl, Interrupted’ and ‘8 Mile’.

The movie will explore Murphy’s struggles with confidence and issues about her looks — even as her star continued to rise.

She would die in 2009. The coroner ruled her death an accident caused by a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and “multiple drug intoxication.” All the drugs were legal. In life, Murphy battled against reports that she used illegal drugs.

The movie won’t stop there. Her estranged father, Angelo Bertolotti, would come forward with his evidence four years later stating that his daughter had been poisoned. And, suddenly, her mother would be thrust back in the spotlight.

'The Brittany Murphy Story' premieres in the US on September 6.
