Macbeth: Michael Fassbender Stars In Stunning First Trailer

The first trailer for Justin Kurzel’s ‘Macbeth’ has arrived and it’s an absolute feast for the eyes.

Starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, this new take on the “Scottish play” from the director of grim Aussie drama ‘Snowtown’, looks more than a little influenced by the grimy realism of ‘Braveheart’.

We should all know the story by know, but here’s the official synopsis for the film that premiered at Cannes to huge critical acclaim: ‘Macbeth’ is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.

With a cast that also includes David Thewlis, Paddy Considine, Jack Reynor, Sean Harris, and Elizabeth Debicki, we already know that the acting is going to be top notch, but can we take a second to appreciate Adam Arkapaw’s beautiful cinematography too?
