Marvel Phase 3 Films To Release Early In The UK

Just when you think Marvel Studio’s impressive slate of Phase 3 films couldn’t get any better, the Disney off-shoot has revealed that we’ll be getting most of them early here in the UK, around a week before their North American release.

That means along with ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (which we get early next year) we’ll also get to see ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Doctor Strange’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’, ‘Black Panther’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2’, and ‘Inhumans’ before our Yankee cousins.

This continues the tradition which has seen films like ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘The Avengers’ released here up to two weeks early.

This is a marked contrast to old days where we used to have to wait for big films to be released here in the UK. The memory of having to wait NINE agonising months for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ to be released here in 1990 still haunts us.

Often, release dates are staggered across international regions to allow talent to participate in local press commitments. Sometimes studios release films in smaller regions to test the water before they release them wide in the States.

Whatever the reason for us getting Marvel films early though, we’re not complaining. Here’s the updated release date list for all the superhero films coming out between 2015-2020.

UK release dates which differ from the global release dates are marked with a Union Jack.
