Millie Bobby Brown adds new famous faces to her upcoming fantasy film

Stranger Things who? Millie Bobby Brown is branching out into film-making with Netflix film Damsel – and the show has recently confirmed that a slew of famous faces have been signed to the production.

House of Cards star Robin Wright, Ray Winstone and Nick Robinson (the actor, not the news presenter) have been announced as the latest additions to the cast of the fantasy film.

They will be joined by Brooke Carter and Shohreh Aghdashloo, topping off a roster that also includes Brown herself and acting legend Angela Bassett.

In the film, which will be directed by Oscar-nominated Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, a damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, but there’s a catch: she then discovers that the royal family in question are planning to sacrifice her to a fire-breathing dragon to pay back an ancient debt.

Needless to say, things don’t go to plan – and the damsel must rely on her wits to survive.

Though it hasn’t been confirmed which roles the new additions to the cast will be playing, Brown will be the film’s executive producer as well as the lead actor.

The film has also enlisted Wrath of the Titans writer Dan Mazeau to pen the script, with Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Castaldi producing, and Emily Wolfe co-producing.

Brown has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most bankable young stars in recent years.

Alongside playing Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister in the hit Netflix film Enola Holmes – the sequel to which will be coming out later this year – she is also reprising her role as Eleven in the upcoming series of Stranger Things.

The hit Netflix series, which started in 2016, will be returning for a fourth season in May, and judging by the trailer – which dropped on Tuesday – life in Hawkins, Indiana is as dangerous as ever.

In the trailer, we see visions of the Upside-Down interspersed with supernatural occurrences and military interventions taking place in the town.

It also appears as though Jim Hopper, Eleven’s substitute father, will be reappearing in the show, potentially as a captive.

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins,” the series description reads.

“Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
