New Avengers: Age Of Ultron Poster Confirms Rumoured Guest Stars

A new poster for ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ has been released and it shows the entire superhero posse looking prepped and ready for battle. You can check it out in all of its glory immediately below.

It’s pretty interesting to see that Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America are looking in completely opposite directions, which alludes to their impending falling-out in Age Of Ultron that will then set-up ‘Captain America: Civil War.’

Meanwhile Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Aaron Taylor Johnson’s Quicksilver and Elizbaeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch each look understandably miffed and poised. While The Hulk just looks mad.

The poster also provided us with the first confirmation that Antony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, and Stellan Skarsgaard will be reprising their characters in ‘Age Of Ultron’ too.

Out of these, Atwell’s confirmation is the only real surprise. It was known that she’d be playing Peggy Carter in an ‘Ant-Man’ flashback scene, but hadn’t even been suggested that she would feature in Age Of Ultron. Some theories have even teased that time travel will be incorporated in to the sequel, which is how her character will pop-up in the plot.

Elba and Skarsgaard had previously revealed that they would be reprising Heimdall and Dr. Erik Selvig, respectively, while it will be great to see how the always charismatic Anthony Mackie plays opposite the likes of Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth after his sterling debut in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.‘

It’s even been teased that Mackie will pop up at the end of ‘Age Of Ultron’ as part of a new Avengers team. However Marvel wouldn’t have included him in the cast list if that surprise was his only appearance, so it’s safe to say he could have quite a prominent part to play in defeating James Spader’s Ultron. He probably won’t get the final blow, but he’ll be there or thereabouts.

‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ will hit UK cinemas on April 23 2015, and it’s set to have a seismic effect on Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
