New Secrets From the 'Jurassic World' Official Site

image

Just about every movie made since the mid-’90s has a website. (Remember Space Jam’s?!) But few are as impressive or immersive as the site for next year’s fourth movie in the series, Jurassic World.

The trailer for the Colin Trevorrow-directed film which dropped last week revealed that beleaguered corporation InGen has managed to create a deluxe theme park on Isla Nubar, employing both Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

The Disney World-like complex comes complete with hotels, restaurants, golf courses and more, for over 20,000 visitors a year, and the Jurassic World website functions like an interactive advertisement for that pricey vacation destination. We’ve got some of the new images from the site below.

The movie looks like it will have some impressive product placement, given the brands that have been integrated into the website:

Smart move by the Margaritaville corporation: Corner a captive human populace who have few other options (though Winston’s, the other restaurant on the island, looks much better).

Also getting in on the branding opportunities? Hilton.

It’s unclear how many Hilton Rewards Points it would require to book a free night at the Isla Nublar Resort, but the fact that we just wrote this sentence means that Hilton is already getting what it paid for.

As for what people will see on the Imax theater screen here in reality, the most exciting (and scary) element has to be the brand new dinosaur that will run amok and cause some spectacular mayhem when the movie opens on June 12, 2015. “This new creation is what gave me a reason to tell another Jurassic Park story,” Trevorrow recently told Empire Magazine. “We have the most awe-inspiring creatures to ever walk the Earth right in front of us, but for some reason that’s not enough. We’re always hungry for the next thing, and those who profit from it are always looking to feed that hunger. The focus groups want something bigger than a T-Rex. And that’s what they get.”

According to the site, they will also get some cool baby dinosaur food…if they’re willing to fork over $5.
