The new trailer for ‘Sin City’ sequel, ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ is about to noir up your day.

The stylish thriller, directed by Robert Rodriguez and the comic book writer Frank Miller, keeps its star-studded cast up front, with more hints at what the storyline may hold.

In the first movie, the omnipotent – and corrupt to the core – politician Senator Roark, played to the hilt by ‘Deadwood’ legend Powers Boothe, was the darkness behind the murky goings on in Basin City.

This time, the stakes are higher, with a plot to take him out.

Obviously much claret will be spilled along the way, as Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new character Johnny goes up against the big time corruption with thugs Marv, played by Mickey Rourke, and Dwight, played in the first movie by Clive Owen and here by Josh Brolin.

Owen’s accent was a bit dodgy in the first one anyway…

They join a glittering cast, including Eva Green as femme fatale Ava Lord, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Juno Temple, Rosario Dawson, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, Stacy Keach and Lady Gaga.

The trailer release follows recent controversy over a poster released by the filmmakers which fell foul of the US Motion Picture Association of America.

Seemingly, the character poster, of Green’s Ava Lord, was a bit too revealing. Thankfully it’s now been made a little less provocative, but not after Green called the decision to ban it ‘a bit odd’.

‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ is due out in the UK on August 29.
