Nic Cage Hails Hayden Christensen’s 'Edgy, Dangerous' Star Wars Performance

Although Hayden Christensen is often criticized for the ‘Star Wars’ prequels, it looks as though he has a fan – Nicolas Cage.

It’s not often you hear someone praising the ‘Star Wars’ prequels. After all, they’re mostly thought to be the worst part of the ‘Star Wars’ saga. But while the films do have some good moments, Hayden Christensen’s casting generally isn’t one of them.

But it seems Nicolas Cage would disagree…

During an interview with IGN, Cage admitted that he’s quite a fan of Christensen’s work on the ‘Star Wars’ prequels.

“George Lucas is a dear friend of my family”, he explained. “I watched George’s movies and I saw the work that Hayden did with George.”

And unlike the rest of us, it seems he rather liked it.

“I was very impressed with Hayden’s sort of edgy, dangerous, dark and still soulful performance,” he said. “I thought it was superb, so I really connected with him. Plus he has a look in his eyes that I respond to… he’s got the sad thing going on that I’ve always been accused of having in my eyes.”

Of course, Nicolas Cage is renowned for his ‘sad eyes’ in much the same way that Haydensen is renowned for the terrible ‘Star Wars’ prequels. But seeing as Cage is starring opposite Christensen in the upcoming movie ‘Outcast’, perhaps he’s just being kind.

I mean, he can’t really be serious. Can he?

Either way, it looks as though Hayden Christensen has at least got one fan after the ‘Star Wars’ prequel trilogy. But perhaps Disney should leave Anakin’s story where it is…
