Nicole Kidman Named Worst Actress At The Barftas 2015

The UK equivalent of the Golden Raspberries - the Barftas - has named Nicole Kidman the worst actress of 2014 for ‘Grace Of Monaco’.

The British Academy for Rubbish Films and Terrible Acting dubbed the Grace Kelly biopic “Dis-Grace of Monaco” describing it as a film where “a plucky woman fights to stop the super-rich having to pay their taxes. We almost miss Diana.”

This is the second year in a row the Barftas has ‘honoured’ an antipodean playing real life royalty. Last year Naomi Watts scooped the top honour for the laughably misjudged Princess Diana drama ‘Diana’.

Other ‘winners’ in the annual awards that commemorate the biggest crimes against cinema include Simon Pegg who won worst actor for ‘Hector and the Search For Happiness’. One voter described Pegg as “the most puncheable lead in film history”.

Russell Crowe also won the ‘Dick van Dyke award for calamitous accent award’ for his “frankly baffling accent in the frankly baffling” ‘A New York Winter’s Tale’.

'Britain's Got Talent' spin-off 'Pudsey the Dog: The Movie' was named worst British film in a year described by the awards as “a vintage year for terrible films”.

This Barftas, now in its third year, is voted for by British film critics and industry professionals. In contrast to the American Razzies, the British Barftas seem more interested in the actual dreck of cinema rather than just high profile flops and critically-mauled blockbusters, with ‘Keith Lemon: The Movie’ and ‘Diana’ both featuring heavily in previous years.
