Paul Bettany Shares Unexpected Captain America: Civil War 'Set Photo'

It seems JARVIS-turned-The Vision actor Paul Bettany has arrived on the star-studded set of Marvel’s next in-production epic ‘Captain America: Civil War.’

As fans have come to expect from Marvel actors, Bettany marked his arrival by sharing a ‘set photo’ on Twitter - but it might not be quite what the more overeager among us may have been anticipating.

Do we get a glimpse of Bettany in costume? In make-up? In rehearsal with his illustrious cast? Well - no. Instead, Bettany gave us… this.

Yes, Paul Bettany granted us a sneak advance look at his sock. That’s right - The Vision’s socks are BLACK. That gaudy colour scheme of his doesn’t necessarily extend to his undergarments, it would seem.

Alas, Bettany also demonstrated his ignorance to the fact that hashtags don’t work with apostrophes…

The British actor reunites with the bulk of his ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ cast including Chris Evans as Cap (obviously, given his name’s in the title), Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Don Cheadle’s War Machine and Anthony Mackie’s Falcon.

Also appearing are Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, William Hurt reprising his ‘The Incredible Hulk’ role of General Ross, and the introduction of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther - plus whoever ends up getting cast as the new Spider-Man.

Bettany’s fellow Brit Martin Freeman also joins the ensemble in an as-yet unconfirmed role - and naturally there are rumours of more surprise cast additions yet to be revealed.

It’s fair to expect plenty more ‘Civil War’-related rumours and sneak peeks over the next ten months - but for now, Bettany’s black socked foot will have to suffice.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ opens on 29 April 2016.
