Perry: Fincher Is Amazing Director

Tyler Perry has said that working on the Gone Girl movie is the most “awe-inspiring” thing he has ever done.

The 44-year-old - who writes, directs, stars in and produces his own movies and TV shows - said it has been an amazing experience working with filmmaker David Fincher on the project, which is based on the book by Gillian Flynn and also stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

"Gone Girl is the most educational, awe-inspiring thing that I’ve ever done," said the star.

"Sitting in his (Fincher’s) presence, in his genius, the man is a genius. It really makes me go, ‘Whoa, let me just stop and take this in,’ so it’s been wonderful."

As a filmmaker himself, Tyler admitted working with the Oscar-nominated director has been humbling.

He said: “I’m a storyteller. That man is a di-re-ctor. He is amazing. And to watch him work and to watch how he paints his pictures, the tableaux, everything is really just beyond anything I could ever imagine.”

Ben and Rosamund will play the main characters in the movie, which follows a man whose life spirals out of control when his wife disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary and people start to think he killed her. Tyler is to play the lawyer who represents Ben’s character.
