Photo Evidence of Chris Pratt's Prior Homelessness

In case you didn’t believe it when he said it last month, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt just posted a pic on Facebook, further confirming he was homeless for a time.

Before the 35-year-old actor was Star-Lord — heck, before he was even Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation — Pratt spent some time living in a van down by the… ocean.

“Can’t believe I found this picture!!!” he wrote on his wall on Friday, indicating the photo was taken in Lahaina, on the Hawaiian island of Maui. “That is the van I lived in!!!” Yes, after dropping out of college, Pratt went to the island and worked a string of odd jobs, even living in a beach tent at one point.

“In my hand is the script for the movie that got me out of Maui. Crazy,” Pratt added in his post. If we’re to follow the actor’s own timeline, which he discussed in a recent interview, that script is for a short horror movie from 2000 called Cursed Part 3. Actress Rae Dawn Chong directed the film and cast Pratt after he waited on her at a local Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant on the island. She was won over by his charm: He listed Commando, in which she starred, as his all-time favorite film; and he bragged about his acting chops, citing high school plays as the highlight of his résumé.

Pratt migrated to Los Angeles for his not-so-Cursed role and the rest is intergalactic history.
