Ridley Scott: I Could Still Direct Blade Runner Sequel (Exclusive)
Ridley Scott has revealed he might still direct the ‘Blade Runner’ sequel despite recently ruling himself out of the gig.
The British filmmaker told Yahoo he was reluctant to reliquish control of the sequel to his “most personal” film, revealing that the script is “very, very good.”

"I don’t know about [not directing ‘Blade Runner 2’] yet," the 77-year old director told Yahoo while promoting his new film ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’.

When pressed on the sort of director he’d be looking for if he didn’t decide to do it, Scott admitted he’s struggling with the idea of letting it go.
"It’s a tricky one because it’s so personal," he said.
"The script is very, very good. Very good. I wouldn’t know [what sort of director we’d want]. It’s a hard one to track because it’s a very personal piece of my work."
”[‘Blade Runner’] may be one of the most personal pieces I did. I got so beaten up for it, I said I’d never try that again. But here we are. It’s sitting there ready to be made.”
It’s thought scheduling conflicts would prevent Scott from directing ‘Blade Runner 2’ which is due to begin filming in 2015, as he’s already begun production on ‘The Martian’ which is out November next year.
