Zelda Williams has made a permanent tribute to her late father Robin Williams, having a stunning tattoo inked on her hand.

Posting a black and white picture of the ink - of a hummingbird - on her Instagram account, she wrote: “For poppo. Thank you to the incomparable @dr_woo_ssc for so beautifully bringing my reminders to life.

“I’ll always put my hand out to shake with a smile.”

She also had Williams’ birth date, 7.21.51, tattooed on the inside of her wrist.

Responsible for the artwork, and referenced in the message, was Dr Woo, the famed Hollywood tattoo artist.

Williams died in August, aged 63, after taking his own life at his home in San Francisco.

Zelda, who quit social media after receiving vile abuse from trolls, also mused on whether she would continue posting on the social media site.

“As for this Instagram, I don’t know in what capacity I’ll continue using it in the future, but I’m leaving it up regardless so that fake accounts hoping to use my name or misuse my family’s photos will get no traction,” she said.

“To be clear, this is MY ONLY account. Publicly, I have Twitter, and this. If other people post quotes and photos claiming to be me or my family, please, do not send them personal information or click links, even for charity.

“They could be utilizing sympathy to scam you. For the record, no one has ever or will ever speak for me but me. Thank you.”

The trolls who initially targeted her, with doctored photographs claiming to be of her father in the mortuary, were reported to Twitter.

She returned to social media some weeks later.

Earlier this month, she tweeted in support of World Mental Health Day.

“Mental illness is often misunderstood & misrepresented, but that’s starting to change. Let’s end the stigma,” she wrote.

“No matter what the misinformed say, you can’t simply choose to make a mental illness go away. It is NOT cowardly to suffer or seek help.

“Lastly, my dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on.”
