Rumour: Batman To Wear Kryptonite Suit In Batman v Superman

Ever since ‘Batman V Superman’ was first announced, fans have been wondering exactly how Batman can stand up to his super-powered pal. But it looks as though Affleck may have an ace up his sleeve.

According to the folks at Batman News, it looks as though Ben Affleck’s trainer, Rehan Jalali, has spilled some exclusive details about the production…

“Ben Affleck’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ trainer, Rehan Jalali, taught some nutrition classes in London over the weekend,” they explain. “A Batman News reader who wishes to remain anonymous spoke to Jalali about Ben Affleck, and apparently he revealed a few new interesting details.”

“There are two Batsuits,” he explained. “We’ve seen them both before — he has a traditional Batsuit, and an armored Batsuit like in ‘The Dark Knight Returns’. The armored suit has Kryptonite all over it, and it can shoot missiles.”

A kryptonite Batsuit you say? It’s no secret that Batman is likely to bring out the big guns in a fight against Superman. And after a brief teaser shown at Comic Con, it seems a mechanical Batsuit is the order of the day.

But where did Bruce Wayne get hold of Kryptonite?

It certainly makes a lot of sense, especially given Superman’s obvious edge. And without Green Arrow’s help to deliver a kryptonite-tipped arrow as in the comic books, it seems that Bruce Wayne will have to be somewhat inventive.

Could this be one of the reasons that Bruce Wayne visits Lex Luthor? It’s certainly a possibility… but with a lack of Kryptonite in ‘Man of Steel’ it seems it might need some explaining.

“There are two Batmobiles,” he added and Batman News gives us a little more context.

“I had previously heard that Batman has two vehicles in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ — the Batmobile and another vehicle that can fly. Perhaps that’s what Jalali meant?”

Of course, we’ve already seen the first Batmobile but with rumours of a second flying vehicle, that certainly makes a lot of sense. Will Bruce Wayne take to the skies in an all-new flying ‘Batmobile’? We’re yet to see anything of the sort… but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been kept tightly under wraps.

Last but not least, there’s apparently a rather striking image of Bruce Wayne with his top off… just to show off all that hard work at the gym.

“Affleck has a shirtless scene as Bruce Wayne to show off his new physique,” he explained. “The shirtless scene is beautifully shot and shows Affleck overlooking a destroyed city.”

Assumed to be Metropolis after the destruction caused by Superman and General Zod, perhaps this gives us a cast-iron reason as to why Batman picks a fight with Superman. Of course, none of this is confirmed and remains a rumour… at least, for now.

And with Jalali’s assistant stating that the personal trainer never spoke to anyone in London, it certainly casts some doubts on this report. So for now, we should probably take it all with a pinch of salt. Even if it does sound rather believable.
