Rumour: Batman v Superman Set To Feature Jena Malone As Female Robin

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will feature female Robin, with 'Catching Fire' star Jena Malone rumoured to be playing Carrie Kelley according to a new report.

Local US news station WILX News 10 broke the story in a report live from one of the film’s secretive sets at Michigan State University, where it was said that a fight scene between Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) was being shot.

'Hunger Games' actress Jena Malone is believed to playing Kelley, as had been speculated following an Instagram photo from the actress showing her with the same bright red hair as the character.

Carrie Kelley becomes Robin in Frank Miller’s seminal story The Dark Knight Returns, from which Zack Snyder’s film has drawn significant influence.

Regarding the scene being shot, WILX News 10’s reporter says the fight between Wayne and Luthor takes place at a high profile party. We see a portion of red carpet for the set as well as fake Metropolis news vans.

The report also states that the scene will involve a heavy military presence and special effects, indicating that things definitely escalate from just a party brawl between the two.

This week Warner Bros detailed huge plans for their Marvel-like cohesive cinematic universe featuring the best and brightest of the DC comics world. The nine films announced included solo Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern movies as well two Justice League films to be directed by Snyder.

Also starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is set for release on 25 March 2016.
