Horror trailer causes tears before Puss In Boots

Trailers for The Devil Inside and Ghost Rider sequel accidently shown before kid's flick

Families sitting down to a screening of ‘Puss In Boots’ at a Cineworld in Wandsworth were shocked by a 15-rated trailer for a horror movie which was shown before it.

Only trailers suitable for the age-range of a movie are supposed to be shown before the film - in this case, ‘Puss In Boots’ is a U-rated, but ‘The Devil Inside’s 15-rated trailer was shown alongside a 12A-rated trailer for ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’.

A rep for Cineworld said it was down to “genuine human error” and said all customers present were offered complimentary tickets. The BBC reports that many children were in tears after the trailer was shown.

The British Board of Film Classification said that the cinema was in breach of its licence from the local authority, and it would be up to them to enforce the age-restriction conditions of that licence.

Wandsworth Council are currently investigating after the complaint was raised.
