Culkin denies $6000-a-month drug habit rumours

Reps for the former child star rubbish recent reports as 'ridiculously fictitious'

Representatives for Macaulay Culkin have denied that the former child star is struggling with a $6000-a-month heroin habit.

A spokesperson for the actor reacted to a story appearing in US tabloid The National Enquirer, which reported that he uses both heroin and the painkiller oxycodone, and has turned his Manhattan apartment into a 'drug den'.

The report, which credited the source as being a close friend of Culkin, also suggested that he had suffered an almost fatal overdose.

“The report in the National Enquirer that Macaulay Culkin is addicted to heroin and assorted hallucinogenics is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious,” Culkins publicist told the MailOnline.

Stories surrounding concerns over Culkin's health have been circulating since earlier this year, after pictures of the star looking gaunt emerged online.

It was also claimed that his personal problems intensified after his split with actress Mila Kunis 18 months ago.

Kunis is now said to be seeing Ashton Kutcher.
