DeVito separates from wife Rhea Perlman

The Hollywood pair had been together for over 40 years

Danny DeVito and his actress wife Rhea Perlman have announced they are separating after 30 years of marriage.

67-year-old DeVito and 64-year-old Perlman wed in 1982, and have three grown-up children, Lucy, Grace and Jacob.

One of the enduring marriages in Hollywood, they met in 1971 and moved in together two weeks later.

Together, the pair appeared in 'Taxi' and in the 1996 film adaptation of Roald Dahl's 'Matilda', while Perlman is still best known for her role as Carla in 'Cheers'.

They also launched their production company Jersey Films together, which brought films including 'Pulp Fiction', 'Man on the Moon', 'Gattaca', 'Erin Brockovitch' and 'Garden State' to the screen.
