The American film-maker took to Twitter to answer a concerned dino-fan's question about the forthcoming film, assuring him that the fourth 'Jurassic Park' film wouldn't be a rehashing of the 1993 original.

He explained his film will pick up the story 22 years after the "horrific events" of the first 'Jurassic Park' film which, neatly, will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary when 'Jurassic World' is released in 2015.

Trevorrow also clarified that the fourth installment would stay true to the roots of the original film, promising "a new, sci-fi terror adventure".

Fans of the original film will be heartened to see the director using terms like "horrific" and "terror" in reference to 'Jurassic World' after the monster mash-up b-movie aesthetic of the sequels.

'Jurassic World' is set for a June 21, 2015 release with Ty Simpkins ('Iron Man 3') and Nick Robinson ('Kings of Summer') the only two cast-members confirmed so far.
