Emma Watson for 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie?

Potter star is rumoured for the lead role of Anastacia in film version of erotic novel

Emma Watson is said to be a 'frontrunner' for the lead role in the film adaptation of record-breaking erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.



The International Business Times reports that the Harry Potter star is among the top choices to play Anastacia Steele, the college student who enters into a torrid, BDSM relationship with entrepreneur Christian Grey.

The producers of 'The Social Network' Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti are currently assembling the project, with various names already mooted to take the lead roles.

Contenders for the role of Grey are said to include Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Robert Pattinson, Henry Cavill and Eddie Redmayne.

It has also been reported that 'American Psycho' writer Brett Easton Ellis has expressed interest in penning the script.

EL James's book has become the fastest-selling paperback of all time, selling more than 31 million copies worldwide, interestingly, beating the Harry Potter series.
