Fred Willard talks about arrest

Fred Willard has said he's embarrassed by his recent arrest at an adult movie theatre but insists he did nothing wrong.

The actor was a guest on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show, where he and Fallon cracked jokes about Willard's lewd conduct arrest.

The 72-year-old actor said "everything is being sorted out" about the incident and that it was a matter of being "in the wrong place at the wrong time".

The actor, whose films include Anchorman, Best In Show and American Wedding - was arrested on July 18 for investigation of committing a lewd act. He was taken into custody by police doing a routine check at a Hollywood adult theatre.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office determined that Willard's case was eligible for a diversion programme that could prevent formal charges against him.
