But so far, John Cusack is not yet taking the plunge into the foam.
The film ended up being a modest success for MGM, making $50 million (£31 million) at the box office, from its $36 million (£22 million) budget, and a good deal more in the home entertainment market.
The premise surrounded four men bored with their lives who were transported back to the 80s thanks to a hot tub with time travelling capabilities.
It also starred Chevy Chase and harked back to the screwball comedies of the era, of which Cusack was a star the first time around.
It's thought that if talks go well, a sequel could be 'fast-tracked', while Corddry is being eyed to write the script for original director Steve Pink to helm.
