Jaimie Alexander Disgusted At Wonder Woman TV Pilot

After being rumoured for the role of 'Wonder Woman', it looks as though Jaimie Alexander wasn't fussed on the recent 'Wonder Woman' TV show…

It's no secret that DC's recent attempt at a 'Wonder Woman' TV show didn't exactly get off to a flying start. Starring Adrianne Palicki as everyone's favourite Amazonian Princess, the show was cancelled after a particularly rubbish pilot episode… and 'Thor 2' actress Jaimie Alexander seems to think that was a good thing.

In an interview with MTV News, the 30-year-old 'Thor 2' star admitted that she's disgusted by the failed 'Wonder Woman' TV show…

"It's embarrassing for me as a woman, seeing what they did with that TV show," she said. "It had nothing to do with that amazing actress Adrianne Palicki."

Of course, the now debunked TV series took Wonder Woman back to its cheesy, skin-tight television roots… and that's exactly what Alexander had a problem with.

"You have very few female superheroes dominating films these days, unless they're in a skin tight outfit and their boobs are pushed up to their chin. It's not okay," she said. "All she does is sit and eat ice cream while she's crying over a boy. I know that never aired, but that's what the script said."

Since then, Alexander has found herself linked to the big screen 'Wonder Woman' role… a part which eventually went to Gal Gadot in the upcoming 'Batman vs. Superman'. But what direction did Alexander think that DC should take Wonder Woman?

"There needs to be a positive role model. If you're going to make 'Wonder Woman,' make it like 'The Bourne Supremacy'," she said. "Let's do something awesome like that. Like 'Alias.' That was a fantastic show. Why can't we do that? Why does she have to be in hot pants and spandex?"

Thankfully, it looks as though the folks at Warner Bros may have paid attention… and the rumour is that the all-new Wonder Woman will don a more armoured, gladiatorial costume. In fact, it sounds a lot like the look that Jaimie Alexander herself is used to in the recent 'Thor' movies.

But will Wonder Woman take a leaf out of her book? For now, we'll have to wait and see… but as far as strong, female role models go, Jaimie Alexander is a great place to start.

'Batman vs. Superman' will appear in cinemas across the UK on 29 April 2016
