Nicolas Cage to join Expendables 3?

Producer has also approached Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes for the next installment

Nicolas Cage has reportedly signed up for 'The Expendables 3', according to the film's producer Avi Lerner.

Though there's no confirmation yet from Cage's reps - or official confirmation of a third film, for that matter - if he does join the cast of the next all-star actioner in the series, he'll find himself among some sturdy names on the hit list.

“We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys,” Lerner told Total Film. “We're talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison.”

He also added that he may be bringing back Mickey Rourke for the third film 'if he won't be too crazy'.

Rourke featured in the first film, but not the second.

'The Expendables 2', following hotly on the heels of the first, which was released in 2010, is out this Thursday.

Among its roll call of old school action stars are Sylvester Stallone, who also co-wrote the screenplay, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce, Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
