The stars pay their respects to Fast and Furious actor.

Paul Walker's friends, co-stars and fans have taken to social media to express their grief at the actors passing.

The 40-year-old father-of-one was killed in a car crash on Saturday afternoon in California.

His publicists confirmed the news on Facebook, releasing a statement which read: "It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.

"He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW"

After the news of Walker's death broke, many in Hollywood took to Twitter and Instagram to pay their respects - including Walker's Fast and Furious colleagues James Wan, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, who posted: "Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."


Walker's Fast and Furious co-star Ludacris took to Instagram to post: "Your humble spirit was felt from the start, wherever you blessed your presence you always left a mark, we were like brothers & our birthdays are only 1 day apart, now You will forever hold a place in all of our hearts @paulwalker legacy will live on forever. R.I.P."

Walker's Into The Blue co-star Tyson Beckford lso expressed his sadness, while Jessica Alba posted on Instagram: "#RIP #PaulWalker He was such a sweet and grounded guy -my heart goes out to his family #sosad"
