Last week it was rumoured that the first of the confirmed spin-off 'Star Wars' movies would concern the origins of Han Solo.

However had things gone differently we would already have seen a ten-year-old Solo in 'Episode III: Revenge of the Sith'.

In early drafts of the script a small cameo was left in for Solo in which he interacted with Yoda on the Wookie homeworld of Kashyyyk.

After a transmission with the rest of the Jedi council, Yoda - who is overseeing an important battle - turns to find Solo.

HAN SOLO "I found part of a transmitter droid near the east bay… I think it's still sending and receiving signals."

YODA"Good. Good. Track this we can back to the source. Find General Grievous, we might…"

It isn't much but it is an indication of what Solo's backstory was in-part originally meant to be.

Clearly an inhabitant of Kashyyyk (there's no other reason for a child being there during a war), it's not hard to imagine that Solo and Chewbacca, who does appear in a cameo alongside Yoda, were friends from a young age.

There is also concept art of what a young Solo would have looked like.

Of course seeing as the cameo never made it to screen it can easily be disregarded should a Solo origin story ever be made, but it's interesting to know George Lucas' original intentions.
