Star Wars: The return of Darth Maul?

After a spectacular death scene at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi, you might think Darth Maul had already bitten the dust… but actor Ray Parks wants the dreaded Sith to return.

Although there are plenty of actors queuing up for a part in the new 'Star Wars' movies, there's always a certain fondness for those who've been there before. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are amongst those we can't wait to see return… but it seems that Darth Maul actor Ray Park is keen to travel back to the galaxy far, far away.

It might have looked as though Darth Maul had met a sticky end, but it turns out that rumours of his death have been greatly exaggerated… and after being resurrected in 'The Clone Wars' it seems that actor Ray Park would love to return as our favourite Sith assassin.

[Samuel L Jackson definitely wants a part in Star Wars 7]

"Just give me food and water, and I'm there," said Park when MTV Geek asked him about his possible return. Of course, that doesn't mean it's going to happen… but at least we know the fella is keen.

Known for his trademark double-bladed lightsaber, Darth Maul was easily the best thing to come out of 'The Phantom Menace'. But sadly, his villainous days (and overall height) were cut short as Obi-Wan sliced the poor Sith in two… but when did that ever stop a triumphant return?

Appearing in 'The Clone Wars' with bionic legs, it seems the tattooed Sith lord lives to fight another day… but will we see him on the big screen again?

[Carrie Fisher's ideas for Star Wars: Episode VII]

I can't help thinking an appearance in 'Episode VII' is out of the question… but what about the rumoured Obi-Wan spin-off film? We've already heard mutterings that Darth Maul could appear in a Jedi spin-off… but what does Ray Park think about that?

It seems he's not too bothered, as long as he gets to return "with something a little bit spicy" such as swinging around two of those double-bladed lightsabers for a bigger, badder Darth Maul.

Unfortunately, it turns out that Ray Park hasn't been approached about the new movies… at least, not yet. But personally, I'd love to see Darth Maul return to our screens. And this time, give the poor guy a fighting chance.
