Samuel L Jackson's Mace Windu Linked With Star Wars Spin-Off

Although Samuel L. Jackson’s Jedi Master was believed to have died in ‘Revenge of the Sith’, it looks as though Mace Windu may be back in his very own ‘Star Wars’ spin-off.

Speaking during in a Reddit AMA, film maker A. J. Edwards revealed that he’s apparently in the midst of discussions to helm of the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off movies which will apparently see the return of Mace Windu.

Asked whether rumours of his involvement in a ‘Star Wars’ movie were true, his response really said it all. “Talking about it,” he said. “Not able to say a lot yet. It will focus on Mace Windu.”

Obviously, Mace Windu hasn’t been seen in the ‘Star Wars’ universe since his apparent death in ‘Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’. But if these new rumours are true, it looks as though he may be back in an upcoming movie and that’s definitely something to celebrate.

Of course, there’s been plenty of discussion about whether or not Mace Windu really died at the end of ‘Revenge of the Sith’. But I can’t help thinking that this new spin-off movie won’t tell us one way or the other and it’s likely to take place in the events leading up to the final prequel trilogy film. It might even tie up a few loose ends when it comes to ‘The Clone Wars’ and that’s definitely something that fans of the series would love to see.

But will Samuel L. Jackson return as the coolest Jedi Master in the galaxy?

“I want to be in Star Wars,” he explained in an earlier interview. “J.J’s Star Wars… I mean, come on. Jedi fall from incredible heights and a lot of them have lived with one hand… I think I could handle it.”

Of course, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to return, then Disney are bound to jump on the opportunity. But will this rumoured ‘Star Wars’ spin-off make it to our screens? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But I get the feeling the Force is strong with this one.
