The sex abuse case against ‘X-Men’ director Bryan Singer has been dropped by his accuser Michael Egan.

It was alleged that Singer had sexually abused Egan when he was a minor, but he has now voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit against the director.

Egan had suffered the loss of his attorney in the case in May, after filing the suit in April, and had also dropped suits against a number of other TV industry executives and producers.

The voluntary dismissal of the case was granted by U.S. district judge Susan Oki Mollway in the U.S. District Court in Hawaii on Wednesday.

But Egan could legally refile the claim in the future, as it was dismissed ‘without prejudice’.

Still, Bryan Singer’s attorney, Marty Singer, welcomed the move.

“We’re very pleased and my client is looking forward to moving on,” said Singer.

Asked if there had been a financial settlement made to Egan, he added: “There is absolutely no settlement.”
