Sharknado 2 Prank: Shoppers Spooked By Killer Shark

Unsuspecting shoppers in North London should have smelt something fishy about their local fishmongers when they spotted the sign promising “Fresh Killer Shark” on sale.

Countless punters were pranked by the stunt to promote ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’, which saw the seemingly dead “killer shark” jump to life, terrorising the poor folk just out to buy their fresh fish.

Watch the hilarious video above.

A team of four artists and animatronic wizards spent two weeks building the shark prop, while hidden cameras dotted around the plaice (sorry) were on hand to catch the surprised looks on the victims’ faces.

The prank was supposed to give Londoners a taste of what a real-life Sharknado would be like. The film, which stars Tara Reid, sees New York terrorised by killer sharks when a freak weather system floods the big apple.

We’re not sure if that’s based on science fact, but if the film’s as funny as this prank, count us in.

'Sharknado 2: The Second One' airs on Syfy on 31 Thursday July at 9pm.
