Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Trailer Banned For Eva Green Nudity

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ is in trouble with the censors again.

A trailer for the upcoming sequel has been banned by major TV network ABC for apparently showing too much of star Eva Green in two scenes of the trailer.

A source at film-makers Dimension told New York Post’s Page Six that the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) had ruled that the trailer cannot be shown in its present state.

“ABC rejected a trailer, saying Green appears to be naked in the same sheer, white nightgown,” said the source.

“Dimension was told to remove the offending footage if they want the trailer to air.”

We haven’t seen the offending trailer, but we expect it’s a shorter version of the one below.

Expect the trailer to undergo a similar redesign as the poster, which the MPAA also objected to on the grounds that the “curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle [was] visible through sheer gown”.

Meanwhile, Eva Green has told Vanity Fair it’s a fuss about nothing, given the content of movies that are happily passed for airing.

“You have so many more violent things in the movie business … this is kind of soft. I’m not naked. It’s suggested. I find [it] really sexy.”

The film is in cinemas on 22 August. All this kerfuffle about an almost-naked Eva Green is not expected to damage its box-office appeal.
