SPECTRE: Daniel Craig and Monica Bellucci Shoot Mysterious Rome Funeral Scene

The 007 circus arrived in Rome this week to shoot scenes for the forthcoming James Bond adventure ‘SPECTRE’ and co-stars Daniel Craig and Monica Bellucci have been photographed filming what looks like a funeral or memorial service in the Italian capital.

Dressed in sombre mourning black, the pair can be seen conversing in front of a recently interred coffin prompting the question: Whose funeral are they attending?

Bellucci plays Lucia Sciarra, one of the film’s two lead “Bond girls”, while Daniel Craig reprises the role of super-spy James Bond for the fourth time.

The film has been shooting for a few weeks now, first in the mountains of Austria where two crew members were recently injured in an car accident, before they moved on to Rome.

These new on-set photos also revealed Bond’s vehicular co-star the Aston Martin DB10 for the first time on the shoot.

The supercar has been specifically designed for use in the film and will never go on general sale.

Very little is known about the plot of ‘SPECTRE’ so far, but the film’s teasing synopsis revealed that Bond is sent on a mission to “uncover a sinister organisation” while Ralph Fiennes’ M fights to keep the secret service alive at home.

Presumably the “sinister organisation” is SPECTRE, the terror cabal that Bond has battled many times in the previous films.

At 50, Bellucci is the oldest actress to ever play a “Bond Girl” suggesting that she’s got a much meatier role to play in the action, but whether she’s friend or foe to Bond has yet to be revealed.

French actress Lea Seydoux is the film’s other female lead, playing Madeleine Swann. She’s yet to be seen on the Rome leg of the shoot.

Car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover recently revealed it’s providing vehicles for a “spectacular chase scene” in ‘SPECTRE’, with a Jaguar C-X75 set to feature alongside Bond’s DB10 in a race through Rome.

Following the Italian shoot, the film will move on to Mexico City and Morocco before shooting interiors at Pinewood.
