SPECTRE Filming Brings London To Stand Still

Parts of London were brought to a stand still earlier this week when the latest Bond adventure, ‘SPECTRE’, filmed a thrilling chase on the River Thames.

London Bridge and surrounding areas were closed on Sunday, 17 May, as the production shot an ambitious helicopter and boat chase.

As the crowds gathered to get a glimpse of Daniel Craig, several bridges, including Lambeth, were closed temporarily as filming took place for the anticipated instalment due out later this year.

The action revolved around stars Daniel Craig (who currently plays the British spy) and one of the new addition to the cast, Lea Seydoux. But fans who swarmed around the river banks didn’t get to see much of the actors in action, because a lot of the dangerous work was carried out by their stunt doubles.

In the scene, a helicopter pursues the speeding boat that contains 007 and Madeleine Swan, in what looks to be a spectacular action sequence from the upcoming movie.

The chase went through Westminister and filmed the helicopter hovering above the iconic MI6 headquarters too.

Apart from the full cast announcement earlier this year and speculation over what role the organisation ‘SPECTRE’ could play in the 24th outing, there’s little plot detail aside from the official blurb.

The current synopsis reads;

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

UK fans can see ‘SPECTRE’ when it hits cinemas on 6 November.
