SPECTRE: First Footage and Photo Reveal ‘Major Action Sequence’

The first official still (above) and video report from the set of Bond 24 ‘SPECTRE' have revealed a tantalising glimpse of one of the film's “major action sequences”.

Daniel Craig can be seen dispensing his own brutal brand of justice in the clip which also shows us a cable car, skidoos, a car chase, and a beautiful glass-covered “facility” which could easily be a villain’s lair.

The snowbound scenes will be a “jewel in the crown” of the much-anticipated ‘Skyfall’ follow up, says associate producer Gregg Wilson.

“We have to deliver an amazing sequence and this is going to be one of the major action sequences of the movie… It’s going to be spectacular and Austria seemed to offer everything that we needed to pull it off.”

The crew is currently shooting in Solden, Austria, a mountain town near the Italian border in the Alps. It’s warming to see Daniel Craig in ski-gear as it marks the first time we’ve seen his incarnation of James Bond visit a snowbound region.

Some of the greatest 007 action sequences ever take place in the mountains - think Bond parachuting off a cliff in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ - but it’s a shame they didn’t resurrect Roger Moore’s yellow snowsuit for ‘SPECTRE’.

Production designer Dennis Gassner says they’re pulling out all the stops to deliver a Bond film to remember.

"The thing that Sam [Mendes] and I talked about was how we are going to top ‘Skyfall’, it’s going to be SPECTRE and so far it’s a great start. I think that we are going to continue the history of the Bond films, making things that are exciting for the audience to look at and what could be more exciting than to be on top of the world.”

Elsewhere in the video report, we see Dave Bautista’s henchman Mr Hinx and Bond girl Lea Seydoux in a car chase of sorts. Hinx is pointing his gun at the driver, while Seydoux’s Madeleine Swann sits in the back of the 4x4. Has she been kidnapped?
