Yahoo Movies Spider-Man star Zendaya joins West Side Story actor in new movie
Spider-Man star Zendaya will be joining actor Mike Faist from Spielberg's West Side Story in a brand new movie from Luca Guadagnino.
The new film, titled Challengers, is a sports-themed romance which sees Zendaya playing a former tennis player turned coach who turns her husband (Faist) into a Grand Slam champion, The Wrap reports.
When he finds himself in a losing streak, Zendaya's character makes him enter a 'Challenger' event, where he has to face a surprising opponent.

This opponent will be played by The Crown's Josh O'Connor, and is the former best friend of Faist's character and the ex-boyfriend of Zendaya, making this competition an interesting one for all parties.
MGM picked up the rights for Challengers, which will be directed by Guadagnino and is based on a script written by Justin Kuritzkes.
Zendaya and Guadignino will also be producing, alongside Amy Pascal. They are expected to begin filming later this Spring.
Guadignino has been tipped to direct an Audrey Hepburn biopic starring Rooney Mara and is currently in post-production for his film Bones & All.

Zendaya is one of the world's biggest stars at the moment, having completed a three-movie arc in the Marvel Spider-Man trilogy. She also appeared in Dune, alongside Timothee Chalamet, and is the lead in HBO's Euphoria as the drug-addicted Rue.
Faist meanwhile has only recently come onto the scene with his breakout role as Riff in West Side Story, earning a BAFTA nomination for his work, and was also nominated for a Tony for appearing in Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen.
Their other co-star O'Connor won an Emmy for playing young Prince Charles in Netflix's The Crown and recently starred in Mothering Sunday. He has also recently joined the cast of Lee with Kate Winslet and The History of Sound with Paul Mescal.
