Star Wars 7 ‘Leaked’ Footage Fools Fans, But Looks Cool

AT-ATs, TIE fighters and Star Destroyers – just another day at Frankfurt Imperial Starport for the Galactic Empire.

Only this isn’t new footage from ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ (though we wish it was). In fact it’s the work of a computer-savvy German called Frank Wunderlich, who managed to knock up the brilliantly-rendered CGI on his desktop.

Adding to the realism are stormtroopers on the ground and Imperial shuttles, which led many Youtube watchers to be fooled.

Pitched as leaked material from the new movie, Frank also wrote some blurb to accompany his handiwork.

“Looks like the story of Star Wars plays on Earth too in the next Episode,” he said. “I took these pictures on my flight back from the States to Germany at the Frankfurt Airport. Seems like the biggest German airport plays a key role as an imperial starport in the new episode - there have just been imperial forces at the scene.”

More than 2.8 million people have now watched the video, which Wunderlich will probably be hoping lands him a job on the next installment of the space saga.

‘Star Wars Episode VII’ is currently on hiatus from filming at Pinewood Studios in England due to Harrison Ford’s injury, sustained when he was hit by the one vehicle we know will be in the new movie, the Millennium Falcon. Director JJ Abrams recently wrapped shooting on location in Abu Dhabi.
