Star Wars: Harrison Ford Pictured In Wheelchair After Accident

Harrison Ford has been pictured in a wheelchair after his now infamous accident on the set of ‘Star Wars: Episode 7’.

He’s been snapped outside a London hospital with his foot in plaster as he prepares to fly back to the USA for rehabilitation.

The star’s recovery could also take longer than expected according to a report in Hollywood.com, which speculates that his LA recovery could take SIX MONTHS, and not the eight weeks first reported.

"It has now emerged that he will not be able to return to film Star Wars: Episode VII for six months as he needs rehab treatment for his left limb," they explained. "[The injury] was fixed with a number of metal plates during surgery this week."

This has lead to fears that the film’s December 2015 release date could be pushed back (we don’t think this will happen), or at the very least the shoot being extended to accommodate the injured star.

”Shooting is continuing, but Harrison won’t be back for months,” a source told The Sun. “The film company is looking into extending filming well into the second half of this year to allow Ford time to get back on his feet.”

Ford, 71, broke his foot when the door of the Millennium Falcon dropped on the star.

He was airlifted from the Pinewood Studios set to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital and later had surgery in London.

‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ is directed by JJ Abrams and stars series newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow alongside returning cast members Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels.
