Star Wars: The Force Awakens - George Lucas Hasn't Seen Trailer And Doesn't Plan To

George Lucas has said that he’s not seen the trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ yet – and he’s no plan to.

As odd as it may seem that the man who helmed the first movies in the epic space series, particularly considering it’s been seen in excess of 100 million times now, he’s still thoroughly oblivious to ball droids and panicked stormtroopers.

But it’s not because he has no regard for J.J. Abrams new take on the Lucasfilm property. Quite the opposite, actually.

Speaking to the New York Post, he said: “I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet.”

No, his broadband isn’t down. He later added that he’s not seen it because ‘it’s not in the movie theatre’.

“I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it’s released.”

That’s more like it.

It’s not quite known what input Lucas has on the new movies, after selling off Lucasfilm to Disney for $4 billion.

And judging by the fact that he doesn’t ‘know anything about it’, it sounds very much like he’s keeping his distance.

Such news will please ‘Star Wars’ fans, many of who latterly disliked the prequel movies and also his later tampering with the original trilogy.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', starring John Boyega, Andy Serkis, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max Von Sydow and Daisy Ridley, is out on December 18, 2015.
