Casey Jones WILL Be In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

With the news that ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2′ is about to begin shooting this month, Stephen Amell has been cast as Casey Jones, which will please fans.

Variety broken the news earlier when they revealed that the ‘Arrow’ star was taking on the iconic role that’s featured in the comics, TV series and 1990 live-action movie.

Originally played by Elias Koteas 25 years ago, Casey Jones is one of the more interesting personas in the ‘TMNT’ universe, with conflicting character traits that could make him really stand out in the reboot.

With the plot of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2′ still under wraps, it’s unclear how much impact Jones will have on the story, but as a valuable ally and having secured a big part in the original film (as well as a hefty portion of its comic relief), it seems like he’ll be in the thick of it, and rightly so.

What’s more, Amell himself tweeted the news and seemed pretty thrilled having secured the role of the hockey mask-wearing, bat-wielding vigilante.

A short-tempered loner who enjoys issuing his own brand of street justice, his hot-headedness and good intent will be great to witness in this new vision of the world we saw in the 2014 re-imagining.

With Megan Fox odds-on to return as April O’Neil, the success of this new character could hinge on the pair’s chemistry, so here’s hoping the acting and script are up to scratch.
