Star Wars 7: Stormtroopers To Return In Next Episode, Reveals Kevin Smith

It’s been a big week for ‘Star Wars’ fan and legendary geek, Kevin Smith. Invited to the ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ set by J.J. Abrams, it was an experience that brought tears to his eyes and now it seems we might found out why.

According to Flickering Myth, the 43-year-old geek spoke about his experience in the upcoming episode of his podcast, Hollywood Babble-On. And it seems that while he can’t talk about what he saw, he can give nod in agreement when asked one very important question.

"When asked, ‘did you see Stormtroopers?’ Smith nodded his head with the biggest smile on his face."

It may seem obvious that Stormtroopers would appear somewhere but with the film set 30 years after the Emperor’s death, this seems to be a sure-fire sign that the Empire has managed to carry on without him. And with rumours of ‘black and silver’ trooper armour, they may even have had a bit of an upgrade.

Of course, Smith previously explained that he’s unable to talk about what he saw on set after signing a rather imposing non-disclosure agreement. But it seems that hasn’t exactly stopped him from giving some things away.

"They had a sign at the stage," he said. "I can’t even say which stage. [It] had the Imperial Starship logo and it said, ‘loose lips sink starships’."

But while he obviously has a lot to say about his ‘Star Wars’ set visit, for the time being he’ll have to keep quiet. Even if it’s obvious that he really doesn’t want to.

"I’m really excited," he said. "And you know, people keep saying that I liked the last trilogy and I did. I liked [Episode] 1, 2 and 3. But I liked them as an adult - when I watched them they didn’t give me the same feeling I had when I was seven watching them for the first time and that’s fine. This movie though… Dude, I cried four times… [J.J] has f*cking captured it, man. He has nailed it."

Obviously, the rest of us have quite a wait before we find out exactly how Abrams has captured the feel of the original trilogy. But with Stormtroopers and the Millennium Falcon coming into play, I can’t help thinking he’s onto a winner.
