Suicide Squad To Feature Batman Villain Hugo Strange?

The Joker and Harley Quinn might not be the only Batman villains to appear in David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’ if a new report is to be believed.

Taking to his Instagram account, Latino Review’s Umberto Gonzalez reports that Hugo Strange will appear in scenes opposite Jared Leto’s Joker and Margot Robbie’s Quinn.

"I’m also told The Joker has a lot of scenes with HUGO STRANGE," says Gonzalez. "He’s the psychiatrist at the prison & seems to be a part of the story yet I heard nothing of casting or mention of a single casting choice. Hugo Strange has quite a few interactions with the Joker & Harley Quinn."

That prison will be where the story kicks off when the government tasks incarcarated supervillains with a black ops mission with low odds of survival.

His Instagram scoop also contains a description of Leto’s Joker, who it is said will have bleached skin rather than make-up like previous big screen Jokers, and he’ll be closely based on the version of the character in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.

"He’s lean & scarred but his suit does have broad shoulders" Gonzalez writes. "Joker works out in his cell like an inmate when he is interrogated by Amanda Waller [Viola Davis]. He’s doing hand stand push ups so it makes sense that Jared Leto said he is putting on weight. He’s definitely not skinny, but in fact more muscular."

Gonzalez’s full post can be read here, but be warned, it contains what could be a large spoiler for the film.

Joker is not expected to be part of the actual Suicide Squad (he’s far too dangerous for that) but he will play a significant role in the film.

The Squad itself will consist of Robbie as Joker’s squeeze Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg. Earlier this week ‘True Blood’ star Joe Manganiello was rumoured to be up for the part of Deathstroke  - who is said to be one of the film’s villains.

'Suicide Squad' is set for release on 5 August 2016.
